Embroidery on performance and knit fabric without puckers
Sports uniforms and knit tees stretch. If the file and the hoop do not account for it, the embroidery looks great on the machine and puckered on the body.
Cut-away stabilizer
Stretchy fabric needs a stabilizer that stays in the garment and supports the embroidery through washes. Tear-away comes out and leaves the embroidery without support.
Hoop without stretching
Hold the fabric firmly, without pulling. A knit stretched in the hoop springs back when it comes out, and the embroidery ends up wavy around the edges.
A lighter file
On thin, stretchy fabric the file uses lower density, underlay that stabilizes without stiffening and more pull compensation. Large solid fill areas get heavy and pull: on backs, prefer a more open fill.
Ballpoint needle
On knits, a rounded-point needle pushes the fabric fibers aside instead of cutting them. That avoids small holes that open up with wear.
